Forum moderators can we get a separate thread for the 5X APAC? It clearly has different software because it won't accept the beta or 3.3 release and there is no mention of it in any official release notes so it must be a different product. Given that the 5 and 5s have a separate strand surely us APAC users who pay premium prices for the joy of watching the various internal support groups argue about who should support us while not actually providing support, should at least get our own thread .

I seem to remember reading there are watches that have APAC maps which are not strictly APAC versions, and there are full APAC versions. I guess you do not really have an APAC version.
Hmmm, interesting then that I bought my device in Hong Kong (because I live and work in China), and the box my device came in says 'Asia Edition' on the front.
If you have been through the 3.30 build I doubt you have an APAC version. The APAC version went straight from 2.90 to 3.40.

I'm sure the official answer will either be double byte language support or telecommunications regulatory environment. I'm going to bravely say its price fixing and to stop grey imports. Sadly its quite common in some countries in Asean where labour, transport, support, taxes and warehouse costs are significantly lower to be paying premium prices for "branded" technical products and software where they really should be cheaper. Usually the price of those products are identical and list no matter which outlet you choose which is odd in itself given the haggling culture. This is usually a combination of import duties and some local powerful family or group demanding a cut of the sale and providing "price protection" in return . Which means if you sell a "branded" protected product at a discount the local Tony Soprano comes to talk to you. Free trade rules are designed to stop this kind of thing but by making a special product for Asia you can justify why it deserves a different price.
Basically practises that would be frowned upon or be illegal in the US or Europe. Its why Internet selling of branded goods hasnt really got going here. I'll pay the same price on the internet as I will in the shop. Be greatful for Amazon.
I have tried to follow the instruction to install fenix 5 beta firmware 5.10 into my fenix 5 APAC version. After placing the files as the instruction say, my device just froze when disconnected from my notebook. I just reset the watch by press and hold the light button, then back to normal function as firmware fenix 5 APAC 4.10, nothing else happen. Now I think of the junk files on my device.
I noticed that my Fenix 5X APAC got a minor update from 4.10 til 4.20 today. I was anticipating the 5.30 FW. Does the update to 4.20 means we have to wait longer for the major update to 5.x?
Hi, I bought my Fenix 5X about a month back. APAC version. Recently the software has been updated to 7.10
I noticed that the heart rate is erratic. For example, when I use the walking exercise, the heart rate goes up and then dropped down even when I was maintaining my pace and effort. And then suddenly it will go back up again. It is erratic. I read in the web and the fenix 5x non APAC version also had this problem.
I also noticed that the watch faces from CIQ is also not stable with Fenix 5X even with this latest 7.10 update.
Also, sometimes, the settings in sounds and key vibe will auto turn in by itself.
I had the Fenix 3HR and it never faced this issue.
Is there something I need to do to correct these issues?
