What version are you running? I had that issue awhile ago. But I am running the latest firmware and it works perfect
It happens when you Sync. If the alarm was created on the watch and not in Garmin connect, when you sync, it overwrites with what is configured in Connect, which is nothing. It does the same thing to units. If you have KM for distance and lbs/inches for weight/height it will also reset everything to either imperial or metric since that is the only option in Connect (it doesn't have seperate options for distance, height, weight, etc).

Lucky you. Mine still does it with BETA firmware 3.44. The Garmin Fenix dev team confirmed to me that it's an issue with Connect that the Connect developers need to fix so it's unlikely to get fixed by a firmware update for the watch.
Mine no longer does it every-time the watch syncs, but the moment you go onto the settings tab for your device in connect the next sync will wipe any watch-set settings and go back to the connect settings.
The only way to get permanent alarms at the moment is to set them in Connect. If you set them on your watch they will eventually vanish. Maybe not straight away but at some point they will.
We really need a sticky thread for this - people ask this question all the time.

Strange. I have had a couple Fenix 5s and had this issue. But this one I have had for a few weeks and never had the alarm disappear. The only difference is I am now on an Google Pixel, vs before was running IOS? I dont know. But I do remember how frustrating it was having them disappear.

I am syncing with both Iphone 6 plus and Android 7 (Samsung S8). I can confirm that alarms always disappear after I sync with Android, but not when I sync with iOS. Replicated that several times.
I am on Garmin 5x (4.10); Garmin Connect Mobile 3.19.1 on Android.
