F5 and a sticky button

Hi,
My F5 have somewhat of a sticky button. It's the top right one, the big start-button with the logo.
I have tried to submerge the watch in warm water for a while and it got a little bit better.

Then I tried to rotate the button clockwise and counter clockwise to loosen it up a bit by gripping it between my thumb and forefinger, but it didn't move much. It's like it's designed to have the arrow pointing up towards the glass if you look from the side. I can turn it a little bit in each direction, maybe 1 mm or so. But then it sort of feels like a solid stop.

All the other button I can twist and turn as I want, but not the big start-button.

How does you button behave? Can you turn/rotate the start-button?
(Is it called Start-button? Anyway, the big button with the logo at the top right.) :)

Im afraid that's a manufacturing defect. My Fenix 5 started having issues in that button the first day I brought it home and the next day it was completely dead.

I recommend that you change your watch under warranty ASAP, which is what I did

As far as I can tell, the button shouldn't rotate or feel sticky or flimsy, especially if it's new and well, all Fenix 5 are relatively new at the moment.

Disappointing from Garmin these manufacturing issue and also the difficulty to get hold of the Fenix 5 makes it even worse (it might be a small saga to get it replaced depending on where you bought)

Quick question. I just received my F5 and the buttons seem a bit odd. I have to press the button down 3/4 before I get any type of response (a click). Is that normal? Is the button click supposed to be instantaneous? Thanks!
  • My Fenix 5 buttons were stuck due to sea sand got under buttos.
I submerged it to water and kept pressing the buttons until all sand left my watch.
