10k with F5s sapphire and Stryd...

Hello, I just finished a 10k this morning, while I performed miserably my F5s was flawless with all of my connected devices, Stryd footpod, Wahoo TICKR hrm and Garmin Running Dynamics pod. I had absolutely no drop outs. I injured my knee about a week out from the race and took a Naproxin this morning before the race and almost fainted after the first mile . I know it was from the Naproxin as this has never happened to me. I finished the race but I walked a good portion of it. I have the Stryd footpod configured for "speed always", "distance always", "CF 100" and it was right on point with each mile marker, I'm quite impressed and happy that it's working for me. For what it's worth I also had my Apple Watch 2 and believe it or not it was almost identical in distance in pace. I also used iSoothrun app but that's configured to get distance and speed from the footpod. I'm going to be taking it easy this week but I'm looking for another 10k to run soon. I can post the graphs if anyone is interested although I'm not happy, quite embarrassed about my poor performance.
  • Where was the running dynamics pod located

    Hi
Glad to hear you're on the road to recovery. Can I ask where the running dynamics pod was located? From reading posts those clipping it at the back of shorts are having issues. Link to gramin connect activity would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Hi and thanks. My RD pod was where it's recommended, in the back middle of the waist band. No problems at all for me. I did have a run prior to this one while using my F935 where I had no data from the RD Pod after the run. I kind of chalked it off as maybe my Flip Belt slid down over it. Other than that one time I've had no issues. I've had the RD pod for about a week now and have used it at least 5 times. Oh, here's the link: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1763896722 all the drops are from all the too many times I had to stop and walk.

Actually did find two dropouts, albeit very short ones, around 21:40 and 58:44 mark. You can notice it from Stryd IQ values going briefly to 0 at these points. These drops are very short and wouldn't cause any major issues with the data but still there.

You could try adding your Stryd FP ANT ID# from watch sensor settings to the IQ Power data field settings and see if it helps. It seemed to fix similar occasional short dropouts for my FR235.

Actually there was one at about 58.45, so you're correct on that account here's the link to Stryd Power Center: https://www.stryd.com/powercenter/run/5522890319462400 I also did another run this morning in the rain GC: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1765709262 and PC: https://www.stryd.com/powercenter/run/5421706929766400 and the one dropout in this run was from a stop for traffic. I do have the device ID configured in the Stryd data field and I also have the device on my left side, where I wear my watch. So far I'm not seeing any issues that concerns me. My first Stryd pod was very problematic, with 3 different watches but this one so far is spot on. Thanks

    Thanks for that.
