Fenix 5X Training/My Workouts missing

I'm not often stuck with my 5X, but I@m properly stuck this time. I've successfully created a Workout in COnnect IQ, and sent it to my watch. The 5X manual says this is how i start my workout:

Starting a Workout
Before you can start a workout, you must download a workout from your Garmin ConnectTm account.

From the watch face, select .
Select an activity.
Hold MENU.
Select Training > My Workouts.*
Select a workout.
Select Do Workout.
Select to start the timer.:

However, when I select MENU, there is not item called "Training", and I can't find the "My Workout" section anywhere either.

What on earth am I doing wrong?

  • When you selected the activity, such as Run, did you press the Start button after highlighting the activity? If so, when you enter the menu, you should see Run Settings (or whatever the activity is) and the next item below that is Training.
  • thanks for the tip, here's how I found it...

Thank-you for getting me close. I had created a custom workout (not running, not cycling, not swimming).

So, first I had to reinstalled the OTHER exercise app, and then following your tip, start an OTHER exercise, hit menu, training, my workouts, and then my Custom WOrkout appears!!! Although it doesn't have the edited name I created in CI< just the default name - "Custom Workout".

More complicated and confusing that it needs to be - I'll ask Garmin to fix it right away

  • When you create a workout in Garmin Connect, it asks you to nominate a sport. And when you have downloaded it to your watch, it only appears in the Training menu for that sport.

You may want to check the details of the Workout in Garmin Connect.
