I can just say something between Edge 500 and Fenix 5 ....both good quality, almost the same. Fenix 5 absolutely ok for me (unfortunately I cannot say this concerning "calculating ascent").
I can't speak for myself yet, but there is a hughe thread on the fr935 forum about people 'migrating' from the f5 series to the fr935.
The say it is practically the same watch, with better overall performance (especially track related), and cheaper too.
The downside, so to speak, that is made out of plastic instead of metal.
