Steps while on indoor bike

I should note, I'm using a Fenix 5X - but why it would behave differently I have no idea.

The fact that it doesn't do the same thing on mine suggests that what it's doing on yours is not intended behaviour or is due to a difference in settings. I don't remember changing anything relating to this though.

I was out for around 2 hours on the road yesterday too and again it's recorded almost no steps during the ride; and that's when the watch was physically moving around so you'd think more likely to record false steps.

I presume you are on 3.30 and not the beta software?

I'm actually on the beta firmware; I'll see if I can find some activities from the stock firmware and see if it's the same on that.

This is from the 15th of this month, recorded on the 5X on FW 3.30.

Other than the steps before and after the activity as I was getting ready for the ride and change afterwords, no steps recorded.

Doesn't do much to fix your problem but it at least shows that it perhaps shouldn't be working like it is and actually should be working how you wanted it to :)

Unfortunately it logged steps during 40 miles outside yesterday. Intestingly if I record the ride from my 820 I get no steps.
