So, I need an advise. I've mentioned the issues I have with BT connection between the watch and my Android 5.1.1 Sony Xperia Z1 Compact on this forum. Currently, it is much better (on 3.30) - it will disconnect "only" 3-4 times per day, but i need to restart the BT in the phone to make it re-connect. Now, to the point:
What I've done so far:
1. I've reported the issue to Garmin support and also pointed to some of the BT related threads on this forum
2. Completed some troubleshooting steps etc. (removing device, GMC, re-pairing etc)
What happens now:
1. Watch holds the connection much longer, within 5 meter range, but will still disconnect 3-4 times per day, even if within 30cm from the phone
2. If it disconnects within close proximity to the phone, it will normally not reconnect, unless BT is restarted on the phone
3. Garmin support offered a replacement
My concerns:
1. They (support) completely ignored the fact, that there are a lot of ppl complaining about BT connection here - despite the fact that I've mentioned the improvements and couple forum threads here
2. I'm afraid that the device I'll get will have same issues and I'll need to be without my watch for a week or two, losing stats etc.
3. The replacement device I'll be getting is, quoting Garmin support: "newly overhauled (NOH) devices are devices that have been returned to Garmin to be factory refurbished"
Any ideas? :)
