Does 3.30 fix the alarm bug?

Wondering whether I can trust when I set it on the watch now or if I still need to use GC
  • What was the bug before? I'm running 3.30, I set the alarm on the watch and did vibrate me at the time I selected.

Nope. Once you sync on GC, whatever the alarms that are on GC will be synced to the watch and everything else will be wiped out.

Edit: Ignore subject. I put the Captcha words there by mistake.

You still need to use Garmin Connect. I've found if you want to set alarms with just vibration (so no tone) then you need to set them in the web version of Connect (make sure you delete any existing alarms from the App and sync with your watch first.

The Garmin Fenix software team told me that it's an issue with Connect not with the watch. That means it won't be fixed by any Fenix software update. It will need the Connect developers to fix and that probably won't get an announcement here (or anywhere, based on previous Connect changes).

    Nope

Really annoying bug. Interesting to know that it's a Garmin Connect issue. What makes this especially irritating is that the app doesn't even have the option to set the alarm to Tone or Vibrate. I like to use vibrate and until this bug is fixed I can't do that.

You can have vibrate only alarms but here's how you do it.
    1. Delete all your alarms in the app and then sync to your watch (make sure your alarms are gone from the watch)
    2. Open the Connect website (connect.garmin.com) and go to the Device page.
    3. Create your alarms here - you can select vibration only on this page. Once done hit save.
    4. Re-open the Connect app on your phone - let it sync to your watch. You'll have alarms without vibration.

Don't go back into alarms on the app (or the watch) and you should be fine. It's annoying as heck to have to do this but it does work for now.

    On-Watch Alarms

I'd found that deleting all the alarms from GC, and then manually creating the alarms on the watch worked fine. They dont sync back onto the phone, but at the same time, they dont get deleted or modified during a sync.

I didn't have any problem with alarms until 3.30. After the update my alarms that I have always created on the watch disappeared. Whenever I create an alarm on my watch since the update it disappears after a while :(
