Race Predictions

Which data is used to calculate the race predictions and what is the info intended to actually show? I just completed a half marathon in 1:51:04 and the race predictor now says 1:24:34 for a half marathon. I felt I was at my absolute limit for the 1:51:04 and don't think I could ever in a million years manage 1:24:34. The predictions don't seem very realistic.

Vo2 max, max. Heartrate and lactate threshold. What's your max. heartrate? And what was your average heartrate during the half marathon you mentioned?
  • For more precision on predictions, you should do a few weeks using an HRM-Run/Tri Strap.

BTW, its a prediction for what your Cardiovascular can handle. It does take into account your legs condition, so may not be real if you are not trained. Weather conditions also affect the prediction.
  • Thanks, my max heart rate was set at 190bpm for the half marathon but I've since increased it to 195bpm. My avg heart rate was 178bpm

I'll try running for a few weeks with the hrm-tri as suggested and see how it differs.
