Before 3.30 it showed correct altimeter with app gps data from s7 and barometer was sync with local metostation.
Now baro is off 7 hpa and altimeter 10 meter.
Is it possible to calibrate them?

Okay found it for altimeter option for gps calibrate, but for barometer there seems to be no option.

Unfortunately there is no option for calibrate barometer, if it's uncalibrated just remains so. I wrote to beta team about this and they reply that they are thinking to add this option. I think more people ask this feature, more probability they add this option...

I already replaced one fenix 5x, due to screen flickering and the new one was spot-on with the baro value. After updating to 3.30 it is off again by +2mb! And the screen started flickering again :) is it a problem that affects virtually all units? This new watch was ok for a couple of days, now the flickering is visible again..
  • Calibrating the altimeter comes into play with what you see for the baro. The Baro reads the air pressure where you are, at whatever elevation you are at. It then uses the calibrated altitude to adjust that for sea level. The using the sea level adjust pressure, it compares that to the observed pressure, giving you a new elevation as you move (temperature also comes into play here, as air density changes based on temperature) What you usually see for pressure on the watch is the sea level adjusted pressure (same as you hear on weather reports), so if the elevation is wrong, the pressure will be too. So calibrating the altitude, actually calibrates the pressure you'll see.
  • Do you guys know if the GPS is used to continuously calibrate the altimeter in conjunction with the barometer, while in an activity that uses the GPS?
For hiking this is very helpful, since the barometer alone, will eventually drift after being on the trail for a long time
Based on my experience this weekend, it does not seem to do it and I would like to know whether there is no such capability in the fenix 5 or mine has a problem
Suuntos handle this just fine btw
  • I have also a problem with the altimeter calibration since 3.3
Today there was a big jump in the baro (see image).
In 2.96 beta i never noticed this behavior.
I am thinking of going back to 2.96
