Optical heart rate wrong readings

Today I chosed walk option instead run or other. Optical hr readings were totall wrong. When I stoped walk session, hr readings in dailly hr measuring went back to normal readings.
My hr while walking was round 60-70. I was walking with my kid in backpack. Usual my hr is 100-120 bpm with backpack.

Is there something wrong with walk option or with watch?
  • If you're on 3.30 i'm gonna say it's the update. For the 1st time EVER in my time with Garmin the oHRM on the 5 from my point of view was flawless (for all-day tracking and up to walks/runs). Then 3.30 hit and now the watch is under-reporting and dropping off just like every other watch i've ever owned. It's their programming for the newest release, everything is off by a mile. Hopefully we get a quick beta update next week that fixes it. I mean i'm getting visible gaps on all-day HR now, didn't happen once before.

Yes probabley it's cause 3.30 update. I was in dillema if I would change my fenix 5 for forerunner 935, but I'll wait a little bit. Fenix 5 is build better by my thoughts and looks like a watch not like a piece of plastic :P
  • I've got similar problem, posted here. 3.30 Issues.

Just got my blood pressure and heart rate checked at the urgent care. Pulled up my heart rate widget to monitor accuracy and it was pretty much spot on the whole time. I know it's not the same as being active but at least in a controlled setting the fenix was on par with fancy medical equipment.

    Using 3.30 in this example.
