Wrong Wrist HR after 3.30 update

I am using my Fenix 5S for a week now, and today after update I got wrong Wrist HR readings on a Easy run. I tried to walk, reduce pace, and it didn't come back to normal.

I have heard a lot of Wrist HR getting Cadence intease of HR, and I guess that it is what happened on this run.

There's any way to remove this activity from Training Load Status, and effect on VO2, etc? It all decreased a lot.

169 bpm avg, 196 bpm max and 175 avg cadence, 191 max cadence

I doubt my HR peaked at 169.

Now I am supposed to rest for 3.5 days after an easy run.

    Any updates?

Are there any updates regarding this issue? Does the new 4.02 firmware resolve it?
  • I am also having HR readings issues... I did a few workouts (running and HIIT classes) with both my Fenix 5 and my VivoActive HR devices, and the heart rate reading on the Fenix is much, much lower. During one of the classes, I manually measured my heart rate and it was around 160. The VivoActive was showing 158 and the Fenix 110!... During a run it was the same thing, the Fenix always showing a much lower value...

    How big is your wrist?

Maybe if you have quite right hr on fitbit and fenix5 is quite heavier is this because of moving of f5. I had similar problems, and even lower hr on f5 when walking.
  • Never is a mighty long time.

I've been using only wrist HR for 3 weeks (before I always used a HR strap) and it works for me, even running intervals. I know it doesn't work for everyone, but it does for some if you wear it right and wear it tight.

I've got a similar problem. Playing a furious game of squash and HR reading stays below 110. Wish I was that fit. Device is only a week old, may it be a faulty sensor?

When I try to use the watch for indoor cardio on a stepmill I have noticed if I use the "Cardio" workout profile the HR is all over the place. Usually way lower than what my polar H7 chest strap reads. I have used the "Indoor Track" profile and the "Treadmill" profile while on the stepmill and the HR stays right on par with what my H7 reads. When I run outside I use the "Run" profile and it also seems to read my HR perfectly... again within a beat or two of my H7. I'm not sure if there is a difference in how each profile measures the HR data or what.... I haven't tested the "Cardio" profile since the latest firmware update but I will.

    Same Probleme here....

Tried to reboot the watch while in the middle of activity twice, before it started to report "normal" data. I realized this pb occurred while I was in an early jog, before breakfast, maybe something different from body physiology ... Also tried to position the wrist better and to tighten more.
I had a Fenix 3 + Strap before and everything was working very well. I only bought the Fenix 5 for embedded HR sensors. If not working properly, I will return it (I am not asking for medical precision, but gaps are so insane...).
  • Same here, also on 4.10, I did a very steep vertical kilometer (less than 2km) this week-end and my heart rate was (according to the watch) around 90-110 while climbing. And at the end of the descent, it got values around 220-240. Really ?! Impossible ! In fact, according to my bare fingers and multiplicative skills ;), it was around 180 all the time. I also did a 10k last week at 3'35/km and my avg heart-rate was 155 with strong irregularities which is impossible.

Washing the dishes is clearly stressful as my heart rate was apparently 140.

Also experienced low heart rate during an incline and then a high reading on decent. Wish I still had my vivoactive hr as this was much better.

I'm getting the same problem, low heart rate when i'm running, usually my average heart rate is around 170, last few runs its coming back at 140 which i know is wrong. Due to this its giving me incorrect V02 max value, saying 58 and that i can run a 5km in 17:43 (which in reality the quickest I have ran is 21:05)
