Any way to start and stop sleep manually

With my 920XT I liked the accuracy of being able to start and stop the sleep tracking manually.

Is there any trick to doing that with the Fenix 5X? Is there something I did not catch in the directions?

The automatic has not been very accurate for me - example is that it said I went to bed last night at 9:58 but actually went to bed at 12:20, it did get my wake up right this morning.

I have not seen this, but it would be a great feature

Yes start sleep activity would be a great feature on 5x.
I set sleeptime from 01:00 - 09:00 . I went to bed 01:50 and in record it said i slept 8,4 hours. On afternoon i slept 4hours and it did't regonize it.
  • Yes...maybe

Currently Garmin is showing 5X unavailable, so I'm still on my F3, but...it *IS* doable on the F3 so I'd be surprised if it not possible on the 5X -- although in a quick look through the manual I couldn't verify -- so YMMV.

Long press "UP" to bring up menu > Settings > Activity Tracking > Go To Sleep

This should manually signal sleep even if it is outside your 'usual' sleep time settings

Menus are different on the 5X, I think when they added "Move IQ" it was supposed to be better than doing it yourself. I miss the manual option as well.

I'd love that feature as well. Currently sleep is pretty useless unless you have a very fixed routine.

Interesting i had headache in the morning and did't go to work went to bed again and slept and voila 5x regonized it as sleep with light and deep sleep phase.

It's just looking for a pattern of low movement and calling it sleep if it falls during the times you set in Garmin Connect, you will get pink lines if you got up to get a drink or something but if you moved from your bed and sat in front of the tv for 3 hours it would likely count that as sleep as well.

In GarminConnect usersettings there is an option to change sleeptime i tried 1min sleep time to let it auto find out my sleep time.
But it doesn't show any sleep.
This evening i will try setup sleeptime before i go to bed.
I will report if it works, but a simply start sleep on 5x would be best.

Where is your report? Haha. My F3HR is able to start sleep manually, but my F5x is unable to 😫.

It is easy ,guys. After you woke up, you could edit sleeping times on Garmin Connect Mobile.

    1- Go to sleep menu.
2- Tap on day of sleep which you want to edit.
3- On the top right, there is a edit button.

Let me know ,if it is ok.
