Fenix 5 freezes when disconnected from Mac

My Fenix 5 freezes shortly after I disconnect it from my Mac 10.12.4 Sierra. Necessitates a reset (hold light down for 25 seconds, then for one second after the shutdown).

If I reattach the watch to the Mac while in this state, the Mac recognizes it, the time is updated, and it's back to normal. Until I disconnect it again, with the same freezing results.

I've seen some devices freak when connected to a Mac due to hidden Mac files being written to the device. Specifically, .DS_Store. You may need to connect to a PC and browse the drive the fenix creates, find the .DS_Store file and delete it.

Thanks for the response.

I've checked the drive (via Unix on Terminal) on the Mac, and there is no such file.

It happened to me too. I reset it, and will just avoid using it with a Mac I guess.

The .DS_Store file is hidden so you need to change settings to view hidden files if you have not already done so. That said, I've just looked at my 920XT GARMIN folder and the only hidden file I have there is actually a folder .fsevensd

I remember someone mentioning Garmin Express still being open when disconnecting the watch was the problem. Try quitting GE (CMD + Q, or press 'Garmin Express' top left, then 'Quit Garmin Express') before ejecting your watch from the Mac, see if that makes any difference.

Yes, I had read about this being a solution. But the problem occurs when:

GE is open, and I disconnect the watch
GE was open, but I quit it, and then disconnected the watch, and
GE was never open

I have a MacBook Pro, running 10.12.3 Sierra, and have never had the problem. If I forget to "eject" the watch, then I get the "You done wrong" prompt, but other than that, the watch works fine. I've had this with F3, F3HR, and F5. Didn't matter about GE whether it was there or not. Go figure.
