  • Great stuff on being able to hide the distance alert on the navigation/map screen. This has made the watch usable again for hiking.

Would like to see option to manage / reduce the number of course markers as the watch seems to add more than needed!

An option to mute all alerts for course TBT points would be usefull as well.
  • Calle calle

It would be nice to add a step counter data field for activities. This has never been an option before on previous Fenix watches but would be a great addition
  • The shown distance in the "rem. distance" data field is still wrong and shows only the direct routing distance instead of the real distance (the correct real distance is shown in the elevation plot).

Done a couple tests with my watchfaces, and it appears that the issues with HR, etc are much better, if not fixed!

It would be nice if this turns out to be true.

    Sadly, it is not.

HR is not updating just like it was not prior to installing this firmware.

Been running a few of mine today, and they all seem to be working as they do on other watches. Bear in mind that HR is not real time on any CIQ watchface, so it can take a minute or two to see the first reading after you put on the watch, and then only updates every minute or two.

Heart Rate IS real time when the watch face is in high power mode which happens when you tilt the watch to look at it and stays like that for about 8 seconds; during this it can update every second.

It may well be showing a HR, but that HR could be from 20 minutes ago, that is and has always been exactly the problem currently with the Fenix 5X.

If you actually check, you will find that the HR is never showing you anything remotely like what your current HR actually is because the data is old.

    EDIT:

The info I got from someone I contacted from Garmin last week is that a fix is in the works and will be quick once they make a decision on how they want to handle it; but at the time it was still in that decision making stage. So I would be surprised if they had fixed it this soon and if they had I would be even more surprised for them not to include it in the patch notes.

No, it's not ever real time with CIQ watchfaces. The way the HR is shown is the last HR is pulled out of history, which get's updated about every two minutes (it's what's used for the graph on the HR widget)

The watchface screen can update every second for 10 seconds after a gesture, but the actual data changes less often. If you drop out of low power and go into the 1 sec screen updates when the underlying data changes, it may appear to change in real time, but it isn't.

Even with the new changes where watchfaces can update parts of the screen every second all the time, I can watch the actual HR change maybe every 90 secs to 2 mins (i've not timed it).

How ever the minutia of it works, in the end... it's still broken.

I have GearMin, My Watch and several other faces installed on a 5X and a FR935 here sat infront of me and I can tilt my arm and see the 935 updating the HR constantly for 8 or so seconds while the 5X value never changes. I can switch between the HR widget and the Watch Face and see the 935 HR value being relatively close and the 5X being no where near.

I can tilt my wrist and run up the stairs and watch the 935 HR value rise and then go back down in reaction to the effort and the 5X value not change.

    It has not been fixed.
  • Possible do not disturb bug

    Hi,

I have connect mobile set to have sleep hours 2300 to 0600. If I manually set do not disturb on the watch at 2200 (using the long press on light button and selecting icon) it seems to reset at 0600 to off and allowing alerts again. I would expect it to honour the manual override i.e. I don't want to be disturbed until I turn the alerts back on explicitly. A use case example would be weekends where I want a longer sleep.

Is this a feature or bug?
