Anyone has seen this: "Power Save" 20... 19...18...

Yesterday after a run, saved the workout and immediately after save I got a screen saying Power Save and a countdown from 20seconds. I am on 2.96b.

What is this?
  • Seems to be the power save counter when you pause an activity an do nothing for a while... never see this happend after saving an activity... bug in beta?
Try to set the powersave timer duration in the settings from this activity profile to extended...
  • I also saw this after an activity that I had paused then jumped in the pool for a swim and forgot to save the previous activity.

So you mean it is like an auto save if I forgot to save it myself? Although I remember I did press the save button.
  • Yes, this is a autosave feature if you forget.

THey removed it on the fenix3 and im very glad its back.
The fenix3 would just autosave it without any warning. If i was out cycling and put on pause while i had a looooong rest, the activity would autosave and when i was gonna resume, I couldnt.

So i started doing the "later" function on F3 to avoid this.
THe good thing with the autosave powersave is that it vibrates and you can then cancel the autosave.

Im glad the feature is back!

Also before races, you get the GPS and its 10 minutes before the race. Its very annoying if it goes to watch mode right before start. Then the powersave alert is handy, so you can cancel it
  • Then it must be a bug as this message appeared like 1 minute after I stopped the activity - way to soon to be normal.
  • I got this countdown today after my run. I saved my run data then went to the home page/ clock, while driving home I noticed the countdown.

  • If you stop the activity but 'stay' on the activity, you are still using GPS and burning your battery so your watch will put you in a power save mode if you get busy and do not realize you had  yet to press your bottom right button a couple of times to back out to your main time screen.
