Bug alert: Recurring alarm (clock) going off

Hi All,

I have noticed that my alarm (set to 6:00 on weekdays) regularly goes off - I suspect it goes off after a sync with Garmin Connect on iOS.
It rang this morning, I shut it down (but always keep it on for next day), and after my noon run it was off.

Any other victims of that behaviour?

I have 3 alarms set at 10 minute intervals each weekday morning (yes... I need 3 to actually get me up).

Then I have 1 alarm set for weekends.

I've had no issues with them so far. They go off when they're supposed to and only when they're supposed to.

Are you saying yours is going off randomly throughout the day or something?

    Thanks for prompt reply!
I set it up for 6:00 on weekdays on Sat (so first expected occurrence: Mon).
On Sun I saw the clock icon was not on my screen, and had to rentable it.
On Mon it rang, but got disabled after my run.
I re enabled it, it rang this morning, but icon was gone again after my run.

It feels like an iOS Garmin connect sync disables my alarm...

Did you create the alarms directly on the watch, or in the connect mobile app?

There are currently some issues where settings that can be changed both on the watch and in the connect app, if changed on the watch will get overwritten by the settings in the app.

So for example if the connect app has Move Alerts enabled, and you disable them on the Watch... when you sync the watch, Move Alerts will get re-enabled due to the app overwriting the setting.

So if you created the alarms on the Watch, this may be whats happening and you could try deleting them and re-making them in the Connect App it's self, that's how I created mine.

Perfect remark, I also noticed that I indeed lost my "move bar" settings!
I will do it from the watch, hoping Garmin will fix the setting being overwritten.

    thanks again

You need to change the settings in Garmin Connect Mobile then; so create the Alarms and change the Move Alert option in the app, and then sync that over to the watch. Hopefully they will stick then :)

    Thanks!
The very bad thing though, is that the iOS app doesn't let you choose sound, vibration or both.

I always setup ibration only, and after each sync the alarms turn back to vibration PLUS sound...

Yeh the whole situation is not ideal; hopefully Garmin will fix it.

What really should happen is the mobile app and watch, when syncing up should check the timestamp of the settings changes and sync so both the app and watch reflect the latest settings changes. Right now, it always syncs the mobile apps settings over to the watch which is causing various issues.

I'm having exactly the same issue. Slept in two days now and missed two training sessions (conveniently!). Loved the vibrating alarm on my 920 as it didn't wake the wife up.

Thanks for mentioning this. It's been the key to solving various niggles I had. Cheers.

I would hope that a Garmin Connect update (instead of a full Fenix firmware update) can solve the issue.
Indeed, if Garmin Connect doesn't override the watch anymore, then our problem would be solved...
