Activity - Run vs Walk

A non-runner here, what are the downsides of using the RUN activity to track fitness walking? It seems that Run activity gives recovery.

  • This is on the Garmin Connect end, but if you record a walk, you can see the steps you took while you were recording, but not the graph of cadence. When recording a run, the cadence, but not the steps.

    On the watch, other things might be different, like v02 max, running stride vs walking stride, etc.

    I use Walking to record a walk, and the native app or one of my CIQ apps for walking or walking+hiking.
