Garmin Express won't load on Mac

Hi All,

I'm running a Mac OS Sierra 10.12.1 and have downloaded the latest version of Garmin Express from software.garmin.com

I have no issues with the USB connectivity of my 5X on this Mac. The device shows as a drive on the desktop, Basecamp picks it up, maps install with no issues, but Garmin Express hangs on the splash-screen and won't proceed to the Add/Select device stage.

When I run it in Windows 10 on my VMware (on the same Mac), it works with no issues.

I'd rather not boot up Win10 every time I want to use Garmin Express and would greatly appreciate and help/advice anyone may be able to give.

I've had no issues running Express on my MacBook Pro and I generally install all the OS updates that they release; currently on 10.12.4.

You may want to uninstall it, making sure to delete all the preferences and perhaps do a P-Ram clear on the mac it's self before re-installing.

I've unistalled and re-installed q few times, no joy. The only update I have available is to 10.12.5 beta 4. I'll try that and post back.

I have it running on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013) on 10.12.5b and all the beta versions before that without any issues. There are some other posts in this forum with others having similar issues. It might be worth looking back through and see if any of the suggested solutions work.

Sadly, I would suggest the problem you are experiencing is unique to your system and you will need to identify what is causing the problem as it is related to your system. if you're running a beta version of the OS, the first step might be to revert back to the last backup where GE worked and move forward from there.

I think this is a bug in 2.9

I can connect to my MBA but not my iMac. The MBA was connected before 2.9 and still works. I tried the iMac after updating the 5X to 2.9 and it won't connect.

Many thanks for the replies. Much appreciated. Solved the problem by downloading OS Sierra 10.12.4. Strange, as I was on 10.12.1 and didn't receive a notification when 12.4 was released in March. Anyway, the issue is resolved. Thanks again.
