Pace fix in firmware 2.96?

Like many here I've had the inconsistent pace issues with the 5x. After several e-mails with Garmin support, I was told the following on April 26:

As far as a solution there is an anticipated software update that will occur some time this week.

The only update has been the beta of 2.96. Because I was traveling, I've only been able to do one run on 2.96. That run showed a much better GPS track and much better pace accuracy. Just a coincidence? Perhaps it's just coincidence, so I'm curious whether others have seen increased pace accuracy on the 2.96 beta?

2.96 provided zero improvement for the wild pace swings for me..

I've been running with my 5X for the last two weeks and have not had any pace issues, or track issues. In fact, this is quite possibly the best I've seen since my 910xt.
