HRM-Run update freezes the watch in "Searching" state

I have a HRM run that came with a Fenix 2, and when my F5 (on fw 2.96) offers to update it to version 6.60 and I accept, the watch simply sits there and says "Searching" forever in a completely frozen state. I can unfreeze the watch by connecting it to a computer via USB and disconnect it again, but I'm unable to get the update to proceed.

Have anyone else tried this update on a F5 successfully?
  • Are you wearing the HRM? I think I read somewhere that you had to have it on when updating. I may be wrong though.

  • Unfortunately none of those advice work for me. I was already wearing it (otherwise it can't connect or prompt for the update), and I tried updating from the sensors menu, by way of going there, waiting for the connection and selecting apply.

    I had the same issue, after starting an activity with the HRM on it offered to apply the update automatically - which worked fine, hope this helps.
  • HRM Run still searching

    I have same problem with FR 935 and HRM-Run. Watch says there is a firmware 6.60 upgrade. I proceed to do this and the watch searches forever. Only way to stop is to plug USB cable in. Any solutions?
  • I emailed the beta bugreport email address, and the problem was fixed for me with the next beta fw 3.11.

    Hello everyone,
    Same problem!
    I have a Fenix2 which I was using since 2014 with the HRm-Run black that came with it!
    Few weeks ago I bought a Fr 935 and the RD Pod. But I would like to use my old HRM-Run as well.
    I paired it with the 935, and the watch asked me if I would like to update HRM-Run to v6.60. I choosed yes, but the watch keep searching for hours and freeze all buttons. I have to make the hard reset to the watch come back to life.
    I've checked and the software version of my HRM-Run is 6.10.
    I saw that is a v6.30 in the middle! But I'm trying to go go straight from 6.10 to 6.60, just because I have no other option. Is that why the watch can't update it?
    Can anyone help me, because with v6.10 we can't get the advanced running dynamics.
    I already tried to use tha Ant stick that came with Fenix2, but the Garmin Express can't find the HRM-Run, even if I'm wearing it!

    Had this problem with the F5 and the HRM-Run. I did the reset, and it seemed to work the 2nd time.
