Request: Add support for a new app 'Skimountaineering'.

You could create a multi-sport activity, with switching between:
- hiking
- cross skiing
- alpine skiing

Just assign a hot-key button to switch sports after you started an activity.

please add support for a app "Skimountaineering". This is a very popular activity and it would increase user experience a lot if we can have an own app for that with own analysation/reporting functionalities.

Hi Backslashhh,

I know this, but my activity then has the setting "hiking, XC, alpine skiing" and I must manully switch it snowboard-/skitouring (or whats it called in english settings). This is more or less a workaround. Garmin offers apps for boating, SUP, Jumpmaster or whatever but not for skimountaineering which I think is as popular as well. Garmins competitor Suunto has an own activity for that ;-)

So it would really appreciate an own app for this :)

Would appreciate an application for Skimountaineering or „Backcountry Skiing“ too.
Creating a multisport activity makes not really sense as you can have multiple changes between uphill and downhill based on the tour.
Right now I copied the App Mountainbikeing which cones more close to it in my eyes.
Any better ideas?
Any idea how to change the App icon from MTB to a Skiing kind of style?

you are perfectly right but personally I gave up.
I am convinced this watch wants to mainly compete against Apple and Samsung...it is not intended to be a serious and real high ends sport watch.
I tried the alpine ski app. with 5x at the end of the last season and was very poor.
Personally I am just waiting for a Suunto Spartan Ultra 2 to go back to Suunto, this will be my first and last Garmin since I am not interested in Jumpmaster, SUP or boating......to be sarcastic.
