I've programmed courses but I just get the large blue arrow that just changes direction when I'm at the turning. It's a bit inconvinient because I've usually flown past it by then and have to go back.

(I understood turn-by-turn to mean telling you the next turn coming up, maybe I'm wrong about that and you guys are talking about something else!) (You can disable Navigation Alerts in the settings btw)

I've only used it once, so I can't say for sure, but I feel like I got a little buzz when I was a few hundred feet from the turn. But yes, I also got the actual turn-now alert after I was already in or coming out of a turn. That may be precisely why he wants to turn the alerts off.

Can you elaborate on where that setting is. I don't see it in either of these places...

but now that I've gone into it I realise it's no help - there's only 2 alerts: Final Distance and Final ETE and both are off by default anyway.

It's active on my watch too.
Maybe it was implemented with 2.95 beta. I'm not aware that it was active with 2.90.
It warns me, when the next turn is coming (50m, 100m or more...) and just at the turn itself it warns me again. I didn't configure or activate it in any setting myself, it was just active once I started running.
Yeah I'm on 2.90 still and did a course again today, definitely no turn warnings. Will try 2.95 because that sounds pretty cool, unless it goes bananas and I come back here wanting to disable it...
I loaded a course for the 1st time yesterday with the F5 and was bummed that it did not alert me of a coming turn, my previous 735xt did this and it worked great. The only notification I got yesterday was when I went past the street and was notified I was off course, then I would get a notification when I was back on course. Really hope the turn notifications were added in 2.95
