F5 Silver

I don't suppose you have the leather strap to go with yours do you?

I don't. Every time I've tried a leather band, it's either too snug or too loose. With these nice, semi-stretchy silicone bands, I can get it just right.

Silver Sapphire

I got the original silver F3 and then the F3 Sapphire. When they got scuffed on the bezel, I would just use a pen ink eraser and it worked like a charm. Everyone of them came out and we're completely unnoticeable. I ordered the 5X and it was like an anvil on my wrist. I am now going to get the F5 silver, but I am hoping that the silver Sapphire version will release before I need it for a 15 day trip to Whistler at the end of July. I am not sure when/if it will be released, and if not I will just get the regular silver F5.

Would be nice if garmin did the leather strap with a silver buckle.

Dremel tool with a wire brush bit will take care of that.

Another + for the silver...

It seems the silver (bare stainless) bezel and buckle are not coated, not even with clear. When scratches and scuffs happen, and they will, a nice polishing will take it right out. I got a tiny bit of a scuff on the buckle and thought, "Eh, why not give it a quick polish?" I used some Optimum metal polish and it gave the stainless a nice luster.

My silver f5 arrives on Friday, I'll report back as to how I think it compares to the Sapphire black. Also got the leather strap arriving on Saturday so I'll try to post some photos if anyone is interested.

Did your watch/strap come in? If so, can you share a pic?

As nice as sapphire is for scratch resistance, it muddies the F5 display a bit. Plus, screen protectors are cheap and sacrificial.

Are you aware neither of those are a sapphire model? The giveaway is the red triangle at the top and red accent on the start button.
