Group Track of 5X- anyone made it work?!

Hi all,
been trying to set up group track between my 5X and the Mrs's 5S, have turned it on in both of out Connect apps and on the watches for 'all activities', made sure we're both invited and have 'auto' live track starting on both devices.. what am I missing?!

Had it working today for the London marathon , you choose an activity with a map on the 5x , then start it , then scroll to the map screen , long press the up button for the menu/settings then choose who's nearby
It'll give you a list of all group track participants , select one and it'll give you their speed and how far they are away, also includes a map

No list shows up for me! I will keep playing with it, in the settings both watches show a 'stop live track' option but no connections etc.

Did you use auto live track or manual?
