I just received a Garmin footpod, which I purchased to use on a second pair of running shoes. I've connected another footpod to the Fenix 5 without issues, but Fenix is not recognizing the new one. My old Vivoactive does recognize the new footpod (and the old one) so this does not appear to be a problem with the footpod (although I did replace the battery; no luck). Rebooting the Fenix didn't help. Any ideas about what the problem could be?
In the bad old days (well 2015) footpod connection (and dropout) was a problem. It was always funny watching Garmin owners doing the 'footpod stomp' on the startline. So have you tried that, stomping to wake up the pod, as your watch searches for an 'add new' sensor?
Yes. I've tried shaking, banging, and stomping the footpod with no success. And, as mentioned, it has connected with my Vivoactive, so I don't think it's a matter of the footpod not "waking."
This might be a dumb question but do you need one foot pod for each shoe or just one in total? I just bought one from REI and realized there is only one foot pod in the box. For some reason I thought it came as a pair and you needed to put one on each shoe.

There is no dumb question, but there are dumb answers :-) i keep telling this to my daughter...
One foot pod is enough, unless you use Runscribe to give you some statistics for each foot (I have on waiting to be delivered).
Thanks alot Meste7, I reverse the battery and locked it in for 10 seconds, during the 10 seconds, I tried searching though the foot pod app and nothing. Took the battery out, and put it in correctly, and my fenix 5plus picked it up..:-)
Wow i never would have tought of trying that. I was having the same issue and stumble on this and tried it. Voilà! Foot pod detected and paired. Thanks
