Footpod Connection Problem

I just received a Garmin footpod, which I purchased to use on a second pair of running shoes. I've connected another footpod to the Fenix 5 without issues, but Fenix is not recognizing the new one. My old Vivoactive does recognize the new footpod (and the old one) so this does not appear to be a problem with the footpod (although I did replace the battery; no luck). Rebooting the Fenix didn't help. Any ideas about what the problem could be?
