I'm a bit confused here. Can I ONLY use the QuickFit straps from Garmin or can I buy a certain size 3rd party normal watch strap and put it on the Fenix 5X?
You can use third-party straps. I pulled my NATO style two piece off of my F3HR and put on my F5x. The strap screws are the same as previous Garmin watches.
