Third party Watch Faces working?

I've tried several watch faces from the IQ store that display a lot of data including realtime HR; but so far none of them have worked correctly.

HR shows as N/A or a fixed number that doesn't change and faces which display HR graphs show no data.

Changing settings on the watch faces seems to save sometimes, save and then later revert back or just just plain not save.

Some faces install and let me select them on the watch, but then it reverts to display a standard Garmin face.

All of the faces I have tried have worked perfectly on my FR 935.

Is this a known issue or have I landed a faulty unit?

No watchface has a live HR data as far as I know, they are all delayed/stored data that gets updated every 15min? Or so to conserve battery

I know. I asked the author for the version 5X. I am waiting...

Thanks for asking the developer to make it compatible! That's my favorite watch face and I'm missing it since I got my 5X

It's apparently an issue with the watch, not the third party watch faces.

And they are working fine for some people; while not for others.

What is VERY odd is that if I load a watch face that has HR data on it and then view it in the watch face selection screen.... it works... I can see the HR, it's correct, it changes and updates.

As soon as I then select that Watch Face, the HR data stops showing up or for some faces, it just shows a default Garmin watch face rather than the one I'd actually selected.

Yes. Probably it depends on the model of the watch.

There is an issue with the f5x and CIQ watchfaces that need to access some data like the last lat/lon (needed for sunrise/sunset), and the time it takes for them to see the latest HR reading. It's a problem for all CIQ watchfaces, but some may be "lucky" and get the data at times, and that's why some may appear to work.

It's specific to the f5x, and doesn't impact other watches like the f5 or f5s.

This was mentioned at the CIQ Developer Summit this past week, and it's a FW issue, and NOT watchface specific.

Any chance garmin gave an indication of a realistic timing to fix this, or a firmware update schedule, or best yet a sense if they're going to do a better job than I've seen with the last three garmin I've owned?
