Red accent variations on dial and activity button

I've had the F5 slate gray for a month now but am thinking if I should exchange it for a slate gray plain. What IS the purpose of the slight variations Garmin has chosen with the dials? Why complicate the SKUs and production? Are folks bothered by them at all? Consider:

- Standard Slate Gray has red circle on Activity start button and red inverted triangle at 12
- Slate gray with Amp Yellow band is all plain - no red -- BEST OPTION for daily wear?
- Silver with Granite Blue has nice silver bezel which may be better for scratches BUT it has 12 to 3'o clock red accent dashes and red on the activity start
- Sapphire slate gray with metal - same as standard - red circle on activity start button and red inverted triangle at 12
- Black Sapphire with black band is all black/ plain.

Thoughts?

Just ordered the Black Sapphire (wasn't keen on the red accents). Looking at them side by side in store, the black is only very slightly darker than the Slate Grey.

I really hope the black bezel holds up to wear as well as the others, I've read conflicting reports.

I agree it feels unnecessary but never noticed the differences in treatment across different models! (assumed they all had the same red accents) Knowing this, I would have considered the Slate/Amp but then would have to shell out another $50 for a black band to wear as everyday watch (which would include professional settings)
  • I have the black sapphire (no red accents) and until I read this thread I thought that they had missed the red off my watch by accident. I didn't realise that different watches had different attributes, thanks for settling my mind.
  • The red is annoying, you can change the accent colour of the watchfaces, and buy different colour straps, so why tie us to red?

That was my exact first thought when i was about to buy the watch. Why on earth, with so many different bands, accents, bezel and band options can't you just configure your own watch on the garmin site. And why is most of this so incredibly random? Why does the silver one have orange accents no other variant has. Why does the black sapphire come with 2 rubber armbands, one black and a yellow one? Why are the grey accents only availible on the black bezel, which again is only availible as a sapphire version?

    It is just insane.

    Couldn't agree more.

It would be much more logical to sell the 3 models in just either Grey or Silver. All with wifi, sapphire glass, plain accents & black bands.

    Colored/metal/leather bands sold separately.

The body color of slate gray with Amp Yellow band seems different from that of slate gray with red inverted triangle.

Hmm, yeah, does look like it's lighter than the Slate/Black body - similar to the one that comes with the Silver/Blue model? Can anyone who has seen all of these live confirm?
