Updating Fenix 5S firmware to the latest

I was looking through the forum and garmin website for the latest firmware for my Fenix 5s. Mine is currently on 2.50, although I see that 2.90 has been out for quite sometimes, and 2.95 beta is even out already.

Be as it is, my Garmin Express is only showing 2.50 as the latest firmware and no way to update it to 2.90. Is it because I'm from Malaysia and the firmware has not made it rounds to my part of the woods?

No idea why Garmin Express wouldn't be offering the latest released firmware. If you have a computer, which I'm guessing you do since you mention Garmin Express, manually downloading and copying the files over is easy enough. On the download page for the 2.95 beta firmware, scroll to the bottom and there's a step by step for installation. Easy peasy.

It sounds like you have an APAC version of the watch(Asian-Pacific), while this FW is for non APAC watches. APAC FW can be a bit behind NON APAC.

Interesting info. Do you know the reason why?

I have a F5X APAC. It is currently on FW 2.60. Garmin Express says I am updated to the latest version. However, Garmin have released FW 2.90 for the F5X.
