After install of New maps
I have opentopo and talkytoaster UK maps on my F5X. The latter are the dogs b**x.
Will, would I be correct in asssuming you downloaded the "Mapsets For Use With Garmin GPSrs and BaseCamp – Routable+Contours" from talkytoaster?Yes, but all work (I assume) so select whichever suits your purpose. As well as getting contours the colours are superb--did a ThamesPath Walk this week and the river was a fabulos blue on the map--many admiring glances from fellow walkers.
Will, thanks for that. Now downloaded and on watch.
For walking / hiking, which maps do you have turned on ?
Before buying maps (which anyway are based on OSM) why not try out TOPO maps made available for free, for instance here:
http://garmin.opentopomap.org/
They work perfectly on my F5X, plenty of details, and I really see no need for any other maps.
These don't have contour maps
