Fénix 5x screen flickering

Is there anyone who has this little flicker on the screen? Is seen with any type of light (sunlight or indoor) and with the backlight off on the clock. it's a small flickering, but the screen of my fenix3 is completely fix compared with the screen of the fenix 5x

Agreed - 3.44 does seem to fix the flickering issue.

    Yeeeeeeeeessssssssss!!!!!!
  • Good Morning. I received my RMA watch and the screen does not have flickering. The wacth had 2.50 software. I have updated it to 3.30 software and the screen still does not flickering. I'm very happy with that. But, I have a new problem (https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?377483-Barometer-issue). The barometer is 11mb (high) out of range and the thermometer 1 degree (low) out of range. The clock I had was absolutely accurate with the barometer and thermometer (compared to my weather station)

    the summary

    Ladies and Gentleman,

I think it is high time we summarised this thread...why? well as you may know from my posts I exchanged 2 fenixe's 5x because of the flickering screen. and as you probably know too the newest firmware 4.10 fixes this problem for good. I don't know why Garmin waited so looong to fix it, I don't know either why they did not say a word about the problem earlier....what I know and suppose ..they may have received a lot of watches with this problem and they started to figure it out what to do to prevent it. Maybe they even were loosing costumers because of this..we don't know.

Finally the problem is fixed ( thanks Garmin ) and I can say that finally after so many exchanges and frustrations I am the happy fenix 5x owner again !!!
As I was saying my reseller in Poland exchanged my watch 2 times and I am grateful I purchased the watch in their store. Garmin support was willing to exchange it too so I can't say a bad world about them. I think we can't complain for flickering screen anymore. Let's hope this will teach Garmin a lesson, so they can act quicker in the future.

    Kind Regards
    Dominik

I did update to 4.10 and the flickering disappeared. After switch off and turn on my watch the flickering is still there.
Less but still there. If I make a new update disappears. After switch off and turn on my watch the flickering is still there.

If you want any visibility, you'll need to start a separate thread.

Reboots or power off and on?
  • Yesterday, I thought it was flickering again. However, I tried to look better and saw that it was light reflection due to vibration of my arm due to the pump pumping some blood! :D
