Fénix 5x screen flickering

Is there anyone who has this little flicker on the screen? Is seen with any type of light (sunlight or indoor) and with the backlight off on the clock. it's a small flickering, but the screen of my fenix3 is completely fix compared with the screen of the fenix 5x

  • Do you not see the serial number (S/N) of your fenix 5X etched on the caseback?

    HTH

Not sure how I missed that!

Mine is 54G016683. Slight pulsing detected with white screen, watch held at slight angle away from straight on, in sunlight. Have not noticed even with white screens during normal use. Not enough concern to make return unless it gets worse.

So today i received the third replacement... and the flickering is still there (54H). it is not less , not more, but the same. i am fed up with this watch , i had 2 fenixes 3, tactix bravo with no issues, and now after 3 months of waiting this fenix 5x is a piece of ... to me. Yes, it is beautiful but this flickering thing as we named it ruins the whole wow effect !!! Why the hell Garmin is keeping silence about it?

You dont notice it much in normal use because of the backlight.

    My main conserns are:
    1) Resale price for a product with a defective screen, after warranty is over.
    2) You cant really use a watch face with a white(or anyother bright color) background...

For what its worth, this same issue is also with me and Garmin Fenix 5 Sapphire.

I struggle to see the flickering at all. I can only see it with backlight off, in bright natural light, and held at a certain angle. I have no problem with white screens in normal use, looking directly at the watch, etc.

Screen is definitely flickering for F5 and more for white background.

    Garmin, please... wake up !
  • I also have the flickering screen when using a bright background and when the backlight is off. As I normally use black watchfaces its no big issue for me.

So basically, and if i read the 9 pages of this post correctly, all replaced units are also showing the issue.
Either it's a massive systemic quality issue that should be acknowledged and corrected asap by Garmin or it's "as designed" but we really need an official statement i guess.
My Watch is on the road to Garmin tech support right now and I also engaged with beta team on this one, pointing the team to the YouTube évidences.....let's see now.
