Bit of V02 Max Nastiness!

I had already seen my watch tell me that my V02 Max was poor. But today I look and see that there's this nasty little statement:

"Your fitness age is 79 or older. That's the bottom 5% for your age and gender."

Is that new? Or have these watches always added insult to injury like that? Notice it can't just say "79." It lets me know it could be "older."
  • you see age on the running VO2, cycling VO2 shows you % in your age range....
  • After 4 runs with my new Fenix5 (coming from 735xt) I'm almost where I was last week but probably won't get it back (Vo2 58). After the first run the F5 said I Was only 52 VO2 max. You always loose something in the evolution from a watch to another. I was (for two weeks) VO2 max 61 with my old F620 and the highest I got with the 735 was 59. So , with every watch you loose something never to get it back.

MY FR630 told me I have VO2Max 47-49 (fluctuating in that range). a week ago, within +/-24hr of using fenix5, it showed my VO2max 50, before any excercise data! I guess it calculated my VO2Max from the continuous HR data and user profile setting (age, maxHR, average resting HR, etc..). Since then log 43Km run in it, VO2Max show same value 50.
