BT and Ant+ Comparison to 935

I do not have any official test, but I can say compared to my fenix 5, the 935 Ant+ connectivity and BT seem to work much better.

BT works over much longer range and does not drop and reconnects quickly when it does. I tested across my house and it didn't drop until the furthest parts of the house (and I have a pretty large house, 7000 sq ft).

Ant+ connected to all my bike sensors including Garmin Speed, Garmin Cadence, P1 pedals, Varia Radar and Varia Vision and did not drop any during hour+ ride today. I also tested with Stages in same trainer that did not work with my fenix 5 and I had no issues at all, connected quickly and did not drop during my short test, while f5 dropped the Stages immediately.

Overall comparing my fenix 5 to my 935, the 935 for BT and Ant+ hands down is the better choice. Everything just works for me on the 935.
  • CHIMPWARE are you using any kind of HR strap?

I'm trying to find a BT/Ant+ combo sensor that will work with the 935. I am getting drop outs with the VIIIIVA.

I guess the Wahoo sensor would be the other main option but I have no experience with that one.
  • Sorry, only have an HRM-Run and have not tried it yet.
  • No worries.

Actually had a second Polar H7 that worked perfectly.

I have no idea why the first H7 wouldn't pair properly to the 935. New battery made no difference.

I noticed different BT sensitivity among two F5s. One has a range of about 1,5x of the other and is far enough. That is a pity because I own the inferior watch which connects and disconnets in my house.
The first watch I owned made its way to a frind of mine due to several reasons. I think, it was the better watch also for gps accuracy. I was very satisfied with the GPS accuracy at the beginning, but with my current F5 I'm not sure any more.

Now I am thinking about returning and waiting for a 935. I make my decision next week... Unfortunately the 935 isn't cheaper here where I live and not yet easy to get. I don't like the idea of spending so much money for a "plastic" watch. But sticking to a lousy performance is also not a great choice...
