Opening Garage Door with Fenix 5

Is it possible to program the Fenix 5 to open my garage door ?

So while not new, maybe it is a little new for the unwashed masses ;)

Too new for my household too, without automated garage doors. Instead I have 'Daughter' version 1.15 years old. When I get home I text and threaten to turn off the home wifi if she doesn't open the garage doors; works a treat!

Not worth the price of a new garage door opener that talks to your smart home hub. I'm assuming it would be the opener itself that would do the sending and receiving and not the button on the wall. Either way, while it would have the cool factor of opening as you roll up, I think it'd be cheaper to buy an extra remote and leave it with your bike.

In my case I had the Chamberlain openers and I just needed to add the gateway:

so it was $50 for me.

You can also hard wire in a controller like this:

for around $80 for any opener to add to ZWave network. If you have more than one door and wanted to automate them all you would need more than one of these. In my case the one gateway covers 3 doors.

@Crispin, I have a 15 yo daughter also and no way she gets off her phone to open the garage for me.... She wouldn't care about WiFi, 4G is enough for her.
