Alarm setting not synced

With my 5s I have discovered:

1. I can set an alarm on my watch, but that doesn't get synced with Garmin connect on my phone
2. I can set an alarm on my phone, that does get synced with my watch
3. If I delete an alarm on my watch that was created on my phone, the deletion doesn't get synced back to the phone
4. If I delete an alarm on my phone, the alarm on my watch that was previously synced with gets deleted as well after sync
5. If I change an alarm on my watch that was created on my phone, the change doesn't get synced back to the phone
5. If I change an alarm on my phone, the alarm on my watch that was previously synced with gets changed as well after sync

In summary -- Alarm settings bug!
  • Hi,

The Alarm-Settings on the watch are always replaced by the ones on the Website/App. Thats it.
There is no two-way sync. (which i would really love to have with all settings ...)

    Regards,
    Jörg
  • Yeah, this is an annoying bug, changed my alarm yesterday (from 6 am --> 5 am) on the watch and the Synch turned off the alarm as it no longer matched what was on GC. It did not push the settings from GC, it just turned it off on the watch.
  • This issue doesn't just impact alarms, it's also the same for any other device settings that are editable in Garmin Connect (whether via the website or GCM). I've previously reported this to the beta dev team; but others confirming this is still an issue for them wouldn't hurt (email address in the first post of the beta software sticky thread).

Is this issue resolved? I changed the alarm time on my watch last night, but somehow the watch got sync overnight and it sounded at the original time before the change was made.

Same issue here. Really bothering me since I rely on the alarms.

Does anyone know if the new Beta fixes it?

Here is what I did last night. I always set my alarm when getting into bed

SO last night, as I was getting into bed, I synced to the Garmin Connect APP on my iphone, then actually closed the App so that it wouldnt sync again. Then set the alarm on the watch and went to bed. Alarm stay and woke me up as it should. Then opened the Garmin Connect App to sync my sleep and the alarm turned to off. SO this works in the mean time until this bug gets fixed.
  • This is a huge issue for those of us who use the vibration alarm so as not to wake our partner in the morning - and probably the most important aspect of a broader issue with sync that should be fixed ASAP. Is anyone aware whether Garmin has acknowledged the bug and intends to fix?

Hard to understand when/why Garmin folks on this forum engage in threads, as it seems sporadic and random. For example, why no reply on multiple threads on this but reply to one person's complaint about how the 4h view on the HR widget on the watch doesn't show the same max HR as activity summary...really?

Until they fix it you can do what I did above. The garmin ap doesnt need to be in the background on your phone while you sleep anyways. This works until they can fix it correctly
