I have my Fenix 5 Sapphire since almost two weeks and I've completed 9 runs with it, from interval to hill runs, etc. Pace is coming from STRYD and GPS + GLONASS set with a recording interval of 1s and I use a HRM-4 Run strap. Before the Fenix 5 I had a 735XT which I was totally happy with. GPS, pace and distance where spot on all the time, no issues with ANT connectivity nor STRYD.
However since the "upgrade" to the Fenix 5 the tracks in GC looks like I had a couple of bottles of wine the day before...Additionally I experience extensive drop-outs from the HRM-4 Run. Strange thing is that my heart rate is recorded correctly, however my VO, GCT, etc. is randomly on and off. On the other hand I don't have issues with the STRYD.
Here are my last two runs:
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1672555670 (steady pace at about 5:20)
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1669697486 (interval)
I've tried several thing, with disconnecting, un-pairing, pairing, etc. I also bought a new HRM-Run but nothing worked.
Any ideas?
I start to get extremely frustrated with my Fenix 5 experience, and it reminds me a lot with what issues I had with the FR 630. Somehow I don't want to deal with this kind of issues all the time. Such an expensive piece should just reliably work. But at the moment I don't trust this device at all, and it's not fun at all.
