LiveTrack won't stop AGAIN

Last week I tried to use LiveTrack, but it failed to end the LiveTrack session and left me unable to sync via bluetooth, I had to do a factory reset. Massive pain, lost everything, it took all day to set the watch up again and I had to start gathering the Training Status, VO2 Max, Lactate Threshold, etc etc again from scratch.

Later that day Garmin released an update, and one of the fixes was that very issue.

So today I gave it a second try, and it's still broken! My watch cannot end the session. I'm going to have to reset everything again and lose what little data I'd managed to build up! Arggghhhhhhhhhhh

Any ideas on what else I can do to avoid a reset? Last time somebody said they fixed it by starting a second LiveTrack session, but that isn't working either.
  • I had the same Issue, but the Workaround provided here did not help, so i performed a Hard Reset last Weekend.
This Week i was out Running 2 Times with LT enabled, and it worked as expected.
Today, i came back from a Bike Ride with LT enabled, and i'm stuck again. LT won't STOP :-(
I'm not sure, if the Bug is related to Bike Ride's at all, but it appears that way. On my Bike i'm using the Garmin Speed+Cadence Sensors connected to the Watch and a Garmin Edge 520.
  • Before you reset your Garmin, try uninstalling the Garmin Connect app and then reinstalling it. I went through the same scenario and just resetting my Fenix 3 hr wouldn't fix it. It seems the issue is the watch trying to re-establish the live tracking when it attempts to connect to the app because the app stores the settings for LiveTrack. Once the app is uninstalled then reinstalled, the settings are also back to default and the Garmin doesn't try to re-establish the LiveTrack. This worked for me, I'm curious if there's no need to reset the Garmin at all.
