Bought the Asia version Fenix 5 thinking that it can display Chinese. But no, I need to buy the Asia Chinese Version. Never knew. Anyone know any workaround for this $800 watch?
"APAC" (Asian-Pacific) is a bit of a generic term for the watches for that area. but it's not just a single version. IIRC, there can be an APAC for Chinese, and APAC for Japanese, an APAC for Korean, etc.
Maybe call Garmin, but you may want to return what you got and get the correct one for your region.
