Navigation course : no full screen display available

In ref to previous discussion here : https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?371913-Multiple-map-layers&p=967149#post967149

I confirm : with a navigation course, it is not possible to display the map on full screen : whatever your config is for the map (0 datafield in my case), the bottom of the screen always shows the distance to the end of the course (or distance to the course if you are off course)

Very disappointed because I prefer to enjoy a "full screen" map, that is still not easy to see during a trail :mad:
  • 3.21 Beta Release:
    - Added support for hiding the distance to next field, shown by default on the map page while navigating. (Settings > Navigation > Data Screens > Map > Data Field)

    Finally! Just tried...
  • Yes, works like a charm. Just set the "Data Field" option to off. Thanks for listening Garmin.

    Moncaller SCHOOL

I can't figure out how to remove it. I played with the settings too, and I noticed a bug where the course disappeared altogether. I then saved where I had got and started a new activity. In hindsight, I probably should have simply re-loaded the course.

It also seems to pick a rather lengthy track but it's pretty impressive.

I agree completely about this issue. Hope they will include a fix on this in the next update. I also miss the possibility to follow a simple bread crumb path, as at least on the F2. Especially on a small screen and when moving in high speed (cycling or other), it's great to see whether you're on or starting to move off the GPX track you're following. (The IQ shop has an app for this, but it is not compatible with F5X.)

If you turn all the maps off for the activity, I think this will then revert to the bread crumb trail.
