I've now had this issue a few times...
In the beginning I changed some settings on the watch but after syncing (with the app) they were reset (think about the move warning, sounds, etc). So I read somewhere that you also had to set the proper stuff in the mobile app... Doing that things worked fine for a while, but suddenly the watch didn't register with the app anymore (I actually believe this happened right after syncing on the computer using the cable but that might be a coincidence). Re-added it and all was again reset.
I also checked in Garmin Connect, changed the settings there (couldn't save due to a server error though). But this is a bit annoying, so my main question is... What is the logic when you change settings.
a. Is the most recent one overruling the rest? (this is what I'd expect, if I change something on my watch I want to sync that to the app and gc. If I change something in the app later on I want to sync that to gc and the watch)
b. Is there a specific one always overruling the rest? (GC > App > Watch for example?)
c. Is it currently considered buggy and should it be either a or b ;)
Anybody recognizing this?
