Inaccurate grade display during activity

Having used the 5X for a week i am generally happy with its performance and accuracy. However when running the watch seems to display an inaccurate reading of grade (most of the time the value is zero or sometimes just 1-2 regardless of the steepness of the hill). Altimeter reads fine. My previous Fenix 2 was displaying a realistic value when running up/downhill. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a fix ?

    yes I'm seeing the same
  • Still not fixed after updating to FW 2.90 which is kind of annoying since the 5X is mainly intended for outdoor activities such as trail running and climbing where grade percentage when going up/down can be very helpful for some :(

    Me too

Yes, this is happening to me as well. If I have auto climb enabled the watch switches over to show my chosen climbing screen, which includes gradient, but the gradient is often 0 even while running up what I know to be a 12% rise. Even if I disable auto climb and manually switch screens to view gradient it is either wrong or so late in catching up that it is useless. My Edge 800 and 910XT were always quick enough to respond to changes that they were very reliable... Like you, the elevation profile seems accurate.
  • I'm seeing this bug too. Grade always says "0".
