Pixel XL Android Phone Microphone Issues since Ive had my Fenix 5X

It could be coincidence, but since pairing my new Fenix 5x to my phone Ive been getting issues with no one being able to hear me in a call and the voice commands not responding to what im saying. So as if the microphone has stopped working.

Having gone through the scenarios with Google they have asked me to send the phone in for repair so I will wait to see if the problem still exists when I get it back.

I thought id mention it here in case anyone else had experienced anything similar.

My phone would work fine up until this issue occurs then a reset would cure it which would last for anywhere between 1 hour and 1 day then the microphone would drop out again.

My hunch is its related to the bluetooth notifications sent to the phone when an incoming call comes in and I'm convinced the replacement phone will do the same thing. I have had garmin connect mobile installed on my phone for ages as I was using it to view my edge 500 cycle computer activities and interact with family members etc. But as soon as I got the Fenix 5x and paired it to my phone this problem started occuring...

Thanks for the response. Let's hope it turns out to be a faulty phone.

I'll re post here with an update once i get it back.

I have a Pixel Xl. Could be the recent android patch. Powering down the phone and turning it back on. If it doesnt work UI would goto settings support and have a chat about your issue. I did have some bluetooth audio issues - seems to be fixed after re-checking audio button under bluetooth settings for the device

Yes I did chat to the support using the phones support chat feature - they are the ones who suggested returning it. Im going to be pissed off if when I get my replacement phone I get the same problem as I will just have sent my immaculately looked after phone back to receive a refurb unit of a device with totally unknown levels of abuse. But in the absence of any other people confirming the same issue I wasn't really left with any choice other than to accept their logic of a faulty phone.

I have the Pixel XL running the latest 7.1.2 build. No issues thus far. Hope your replacement doesn't come with 7.1.1 already installed so that it can't be unlocked.
