My old Fenix 3 HR would stay connected to my phone via bluetooth at least twice as far as my new F5. Did Garmin decide to gimp the bluetooth transceiver on the F5? It literally buzzes all day long... sometimes when I'm walking only 15 feet away from it. Yes, I can turn off the notification but I really liked how my old Fenix 3 HR would buzz and warn me when I left my phone behind. Nice feature to have. Would hate to lose that feature because of a gimped BT transceiver. I'm hoping that my unit is just defective. Any others here that had a Fenix 3 HR and now have a F5 experiencing the same?
hello, it's normal that There is no HR during swim but when i'm on the bike, i'm not underwater and HR is out of order, displays low values and disconnect each second. I need to stop/resume later/reconnect to have Correct HR values
I have sam issue with clean android on the Motorola Moto X play . Could you tell me if we have some mobile phones which works perfect with f5. I know Garmin provide list of compatible mobiles phones but I read example Samsung s7 have issue . If we have model which works I will change could you give models name?
I am experiencing the exact same problem about BT connection i.e. connected/disconnected even thought the phone is in the proximity. Never had this problem with Fenix3. Any solution? Thanks
I cured the close proximity disconnects by replacing my Android Xperia Z1 Compact with newer phone (LG G6). My girlfriend has Fenix 5s and had same issues with same model of the phone. Now she is on Google Pixel - no close proximity disconnects. And, by close proximity, I mean 5 meters max. So, looks like BT compatibility issues with Android, on specific phone hardware, at least in my case. Note - my watch was replaced by Garmin and still I had disconnects. Sounds like not only you have to pay premium to Garmin, for the watch with laughable BT range, but you also need a phone with latest HW ;)
