Possible to show the actual text message body on F5 upon notification?

I believe my old Fenix 3 HR would show the name of sender and the actual body of the text message when a text came into my phone.

On my new F5, the text will come in but only show the sender's name and "1 unread message". The font size is also so large just the sender's name (first and last name) and "1 unread message" would take up 70% of the screen. Did Garmin decide that everyone that buys the F5 has terrible vision? I know there is no setting to adjust the font size but is there a setting so that I can actually read the first few words of the text message instead of the watch just showing "1 unread message"?

It was nice to be able to glance at my F3 when a text came in instead of always having to unfree BOTH my hands to press the buttons. Seems to defeat the purpose of having a convenient way to check a text. May as well just pull out my phone.

Seems like Garmin is going backwards in a lot of ways. What a shame.

Interesting. Do you have an Android or Apple phone? I am using a Samsung phone on Android.

What notification is on the phone itself? On the other Garmin smartwatches the phone simply sends the notification text to the Garmin and from memory there's a Samsung setting which controls this behaviour, if you set the preview option on it puts the body of the message into the notification otherwise it doesn't. On my VA I get the full text on the watch but if the same sender sends another message it changes to SenderName Two unread messages which is what the phone shows.

I found that it depends on the text messaging app you are using and how it transmits the message to the watch. I believe textra shows it how it appears on your F5, however I use Pulse and it shows the senders name and message when I receive a notification. I think android messages does the same thing as Pulse. It took me a while to figure this out lol.

This happens to me as well. I currently use Textra as my main app. I don't wanna have to switch just for this to work as intended. Is there an option in textra or android that can change how the sms messages are viewed?

Maybe this is a little off topic, but I found out how to READ the whole message upon notification.
When you get the notification press DOWN button (bottom left corner) (then you see it as on F3) then press the "play" button (upper right corner) to read everything.

This is during activity.
