In this beta software there is a GPS update. Before use, we recommend that all users allow their device an opportunity 'soak' and acquire GPS at least 15 minutes, with an open view of the sky, to rebuild ephemeris data

Please send all bug reports to [email protected].

Note: Please allow for the updates to propagate across all servers. There is no need to post that the link does not work. It will after a bit of patience. :)

  • It did come with a GPS update; the EPO was invalidated and it took a while to get a lock first time after the update installed.

Is the EPO updated through the "soak"?
  • Ephermis data is, yes; there's a helper file that gets updated as well and makes re-acquisition faster, but on a full GPS reset that data has to come down again and it takes a few minutes to do so.

Installing... and i've yet to peel away the glass cover. :)
  • Yes. I emailed the beta group about this today. Also when when viewing them on the watch you will see some strange characters.

I also experienced bug with (Garmin) segments on 2.9... With 2.72beta, it was a complete crash of the F5X (hard reset needed) :mad:Now, during the sync process from GC (via Garmin Express), some FIT files (segments) are signaled as "in error" by GE when I plug the F5x, and the list of segments is inconsistant :

Some of the segment are OK (tested this morning), but the sync process is not correct.
NB : apparently, I have no "international" (= non-US ) characters in the name of the segment...
  • Personally, I think there are some other things going on on the watch, possibly caused by CIQ which cause problems.

I had an issue with many segments showing exactly like that when they had only 7 bit English characters . But after I gave up, performed a hard reset and steered clear of CIQ my segments showed up correctly and have worked fine. It could be coincidence of course, but I certainly had problems looking just like that which were solved after a hard reset.

Fixed with 2.95beta (tested with Garmin segments only). Thx !
