2.70 on the way?

I've just noticed in the Forerunner 935 forum that a s/w update's been released, going from 2.40 to 2.70, so I'd presume we'll shortly be seeing the same for the f5.

Changelog is:

Added support for GroupTrack.
Added support for Bontrager bike lights.
Added countdown spinner for pool swim activities.
Added message for when a course exceeds the device's course point limit.
Added instructional tips for the Training Status page and Performance widget.
Added recording of FIT files for Golf activites.
Fixed issue with Virtual Partner not displaying time ahead/behind information correctly.
Fixed broken Portuguese and Hebrew keyboards.
Minor bug fixes and usability improvements.

That's because it's already supported on FR935

Makes sense. So that feature should appear on the release notes of the Fenix 5 then (when that appears).. but explains the current absence. Hope they push the change soon - I am scheduled to receive my RD Pod Monday

This is a first. Forerunner getting an update before the Fenix.

I was hoping that both teams merged their software, so both could enjoy the betas and additional features yet to come.

Yes, that's basically the Chronos "flavor" of the f5s FW. There's been a few round of beta FW for that. (f5s fonts, UI, etc)
