Is there a trick to seeing emoji's in text notifications? All I see is a blank screen. According to Garmin marketing, the 5 series has the ability to display emoji's.
Thanks. Did some more experimenting. I have iOS and only select emoji's will display on the Fenix. I assumed they all would. I also assumed they would be in color but they are just sketches of the actual emoji.
Glad this wasn't the feature that caused me to buy the Fenix 5. :)
That's a shame, but I guess I can kind of understand it; emojis are only sent as a code number, not the actual picture - the picture that's actually displayed is down to the operating system (which is why the same emoji will be represented by a different picture on an Android phone compared to an iPhone).
I guess the time, effort and cost of creating a full colour representation for each of the hundreds of emojis wasn't justified in Garmin's eyes. Plus by keeping them B&W you avoid that sensitive issue of skin colour
